Daisy Bell

It's May.  Finally, the weather finally says "Spring is here!"  And, some would say, love is in the air.

With that in mind, I simply could not resist posting this recording of "Daisy Bell" (a.k.a. "Bicycle Built For Two"), as sung by Pat Phillips:

  1. I'm a music therapist & work with the elderly. Happily haven't had to sing Daisy for some years, I reached saturation point a few years ago. I didn't know some of the verses or the first bit. The following alternative chorus was sung to me 15 years ago by a gentleman who was then 99:

Micheal, Micheal, here is my answer true.
I'm not crazy, over the likes of you!
If you can't afford a carriage,
    There won't be any marriage,
'Cause I'll be damned, if I'll be found,
On a bicycle built for two...

All his other alternatives were far too bawdy for your genteel & courteous blog.
