Such bikes were commonly called "club racers." And Mr. Bolton had the right idea about Atalas: I serviced a number of them and owned one (which, fortunately, I paid only ten dollars for, if I remember correctly) and the workmanship on them was pretty dreadful, even on the higher-end models. I saw more than a few with misaligned frames and bottom bracket threads that really needed to be reworked for the bottom bracket to fit and work properly.Justine Valinottihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10852069587181432102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-34194116370287853712022-10-31T16:43:05.448-07:002022-10-31T16:43:05.448-07:00Hi John, I saw your comment again. Bolton Bikes was located in Rye, NY and the proprietor, Mr. Bolton sourced the PS bikes from Victor Cycles in NJ. I would unload them 10 or more at a time from his 1967 Chevy Chevelle, modified to carry bikes - back seat was removed. I assembled them and he did the final check before the went on the sales floor. I also sold and serviced them, they were very popular and were very easy to sell. The shop also carried Atala 10 speeds, but very few were ever sold. I think he stocked just a few Atalas to make the PS look good in comparison. I still have my 1975 Paris Sport 700, which was a higher end model with alloy crankset and handlebars, and tubular rims/tires. I replaced the stock Huret Svelto with an alloy Huret Jubilee, the steel seat post with a campy, and the saddle with a Brooks Professional. I have not ridden in decades.garynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-90002090289907370442022-10-31T11:55:01.527-07:002022-10-31T11:55:01.527-07:00I worked for a bike shop in Rye, NY from 1974-1976...I worked for a bike shop in Rye, NY from 1974-1976 that sold mostly Paris-Sport bikes. I own a PARIS-SPORT model 1000 that I bought new in the mid-1070's.

Cheers!

John GiardinoAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-82406984915264178852020-09-19T06:17:52.385-07:002020-09-19T06:17:52.385-07:00You can definitely see your skills within the work...You can definitely see your skills within the work you write. http://https://www.whatsteroids.com/steroids/epo-and-blood-doping-in-cycling-and-endurance-sportsJohn Bravohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00556160692166911434noreply@blogger.com
