I think the drunk drivers scare me more because they are less in control of themselves--and can become very belligerent.

Steve--Good point. Still, it's startling when a deer darts across the path thirty feet in front of you.

Phillip--That's sort of having two lightning bolts just miss you.

Justine Valinottihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10852069587181432102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-27297378710619199162018-10-11T03:44:56.063-07:002018-10-11T03:44:56.063-07:00I was nearly bowled over once while riding around ...I was nearly bowled over once while riding around the Yorktown Battlefield. A deer ran across the road about twenty feet in front of me. I was so busy looking at him I didn't see the second one that passed what seemed to be a foot in front of me.Phillip Cowanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01553979458131339924noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-55707094166962307922018-10-10T21:07:25.670-07:002018-10-10T21:07:25.670-07:00It is rare for cyclists to get hit by deer since t...It is rare for cyclists to get hit by deer since they are a lot easier for a running deer to avoid than a large, speeding car. I hadn’t considered the scenario in the video, however.Steve Ahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13650405341304401203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-11625632363672710132018-10-10T18:03:37.548-07:002018-10-10T18:03:37.548-07:00Yow! i recently spent a long weekend in U.P. My biggest fear, besides the 18-year-old drunk drivers, was having a deer run out from the woods. Actually, one did so just as i was slowing down to pull into a controle. Fortunately for us both, it made it across safely.

i don't know who to feel sorrier for here- the driver or the deer. Truly horrifying footage!mike w.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10317710564489321690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-60901164022547573402018-10-10T17:39:20.406-07:002018-10-10T17:39:20.406-07:00All it took was 2 secs. All it took was 2 secs.restyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12195406920764984114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-19641738579135587962018-10-10T16:05:29.486-07:002018-10-10T16:05:29.486-07:00What he said! What he said!voyageoftheeyehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04113232240883647921noreply@blogger.com
