LX during that same point really was the lower spec group. You touched on the derailleurs. Well DX hubs where most comparable to road 600 quality. The crankset was a stand out too. All this, when judging against the upgraded LX from a few years later (mid 90's) made the quality more apparent. Despite that shop folks easily lost the thread and would mistake DX for a lesser product.bmwtnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-46337634384341197332022-06-21T04:25:26.018-07:002022-06-21T04:25:26.018-07:00Greetings, and thank you for this so many years la...Greetings, and thank you for this so many years later. I like the way they look, and the hubs spin much better than other makes from that era. Likewise, my Bridgestone MB3 still sports DX hubs, crankset and front derailleur. The rear mech has been retired, as have the combination shift-brake levers. After hanging in the garage for well over 10 years my kids started riding it. It shifted so much smoother than many of their lower end new bikes. Sadly the front and rear deraileurs have finally given up. I have a Univega Chromoly MTB I purched new with all Deore DX parts in the late 80's or early 90's. It's the only thing I have ridden since I purchased new off the showroom floor.
