I enjoyed participating in sports mainly because, as a kid who was picked on and bullied, I felt stronger and more confident in my own body. And, once I started participating in sports, I wasn't picked on or bullied as much.

Still, I must say that I admire your refusal to participate and appreciate the irony of your breaking your school's javelin throw record!Justine Valinottihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10852069587181432102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-49237440499824591972015-06-06T02:25:41.749-07:002015-06-06T02:25:41.749-07:00I am a collaborative rather than competitive spiri...I am a collaborative rather than competitive spirit so most sports just appal me, their organisation more so. Football ruined alternate weekends as "supporters" caused untold damage to out city centres as they found their way from train stations to grounds. I worked weekends in a department store where the "male" regular staff were given leave to go and watch matches while the rest of us did their work!

Armstrong was a great disappointment because we shall never know just how good he would have been without the cheating, he may well have not needed it to have been one of the greatest with his meticulous approach to every aspect of cycling...

I introduced cycling as a sports activity to my school but refused to have anything to do with it when they decided to let a teacher take over from me as organiser, well we were not actually all very sporty... I became the first pupil to refuse to do any sport on wednesday afternoons and got punished by being sent to work in the physics labs, like sending a gourmet to work in a restaurant kitchen. When absolutely forced to attend an annual sports day I said I would throw a javelin, never having done so before it surprised everyone when I broke the school record with one of my three throws. I retired victorious.

The world should decide on one location for olympics and stick to it. The ball kickers could do the same.Colinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01667939789517989280noreply@blogger.com
