Mine from the early 70s had the tubular rims, etc. Very nice for me, my first 'racing' bike.Rick Blakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05013496856265739258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8908461644259659419.post-46159089887027224222014-02-22T12:57:32.872-08:002014-02-22T12:57:32.872-08:00Adventure--Wow, you got a really good buy. They were pretty nice bikes: As I say in the post, I probably would have continued to ride mine had it fit.

Funny you should mention 650B conversion: As I was writing the post, I thought the Competition might be a good candidate. I was thrilled when I opened the box and the seller had tossed in most of the Campy Gran Sport bits. I had to buy three crank bolts and a cable guide, and I just scored a pair of Gran Sport hubs, again on ebay. The derailleurs were torn apart, and putting them back together could be a challenge. I believe some of the parts are missing. But that's not a huge deal. It's going to be a rider, not a museum piece. I have a pair of the Weinmann concave rims which will come in handy, but I'm thinking about doing a 650b conversion as well. Should be a fun project.MT cyclisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17451590809473759574noreply@blogger.com
